Hi,

I too just recently had my first breakout of eczema around my mouth at 32yo. I've had eczema since I was a child with breakouts on my inner groin area and on my elbows. I've lived a healthy, natural, and active lifestyle since my early 20s and have not had any considerable breakouts for many many years. And what I mean by natural lifestyle is that I use all natural products without harsh chemicals or scents (dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, household cleaners, everything). My diet is overall very healthy (no sodas, mostly gluten-free, minimal meat and mostly organic fresh fruits and vegetables) but also has its imperfections here and there. I am currently on a 5-day juice cleanse and on day 2 my lips started burning. That same night they started forming a thick later of skin and cracked which is a sure sign of eczema. I slathered L-Lysine ointment all over my lips before I went to bed and the next morning they were back to being soft and almost back to normal. I rubbed in more ointment into my lips as soon as they felt dry and they are continuing to heal. I'll keep doing this until the small crack on my upper lip heals comes completely. Here is a link to the l-lysine ointment that works great: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B000GG0WOC/s=sd/ref=mw_dp_cr

Also, another key factor is the type of lotion I use. I actually don't use lotion because I found that it just dries my skin out. I now use coconut oil directly into my skin. I buy the same coconut oil that is used for cooking. My logic is this: skin is an organ so would I want to rub something with harsh chemicals onto the rest of my organs? Absolutely not. I figure I'll nourish my skin with the same oil that I would ingest and it has seriously worked wonders for me. I hope you too find the same success as I did with these remedies for this annoying and sometimes debilitating condition.
