I quit Antibiotics completely and switched to the natural alternatives. Lowering the Antibiotic dose would likely make the folliculitis come back and might make it more resistant to further treatments so I really don't see the point. Please do not take the supplements I mention with Antibiotics because I read that some of them do interfere with Antibiotics and I suspect combined could make the bacteria more resistant to treatment.

I haven't had folliculitis spread anywhere else but the scalp but I've read that many had this occur. Washing with Hibiclens every so often and/or using a good antibacterial body soap might help prevent it. Here's a tip on how to make Hibiclens foam like soap. Buy a liquid foaming hand soap dispenser like Dial and empty it out and replace with Hibiclens. It will foam like liquid hand soap and makes it easier to apply. Also, keep pillow cases, sheets, towels, etc. clean with 20 Mule Borax found in the laundry section.
