That was the first question I asked my doc! Saline implants deflate and hence you will know when the breasts shrinks over time. Gel implants stays together and doesn't change the shape. An MRI is the only way to detect 'silent' ruptures of the implants.Well, this was one of my main concerns while getting a done. Saline implants are harmless and re-absorbed by the body.
