Hi Rachel, Last year I had the same pink around my lips. It really started after I started using a lip balm stick. I told a skin doctor that my lips were dry, even though I was using the regular name brand lip balm sticks, and he suggested Burt's Beeswax. I bought that - it had peppermint in it - and started applying it around the edges of my lips. I developed the same pinkness that you have and could not get rid of it. After the winter was over, and I stopped using anything medicated on my lips (I have no problem with lipsticks), the pinkness slowly disappeared - but it took months. This year I found the Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm stick from last year with Vitamin E and Peppermint, and I stupidly applied it around my lips. Immediately, the next day, my upper lip developed the same pinkness as last year. So now I know there's something in the Burt's Beeswax formula that is causing this. It could be the peppermint, the beeswax - I don't know. But once I get this pinkness, it lasts for a long time. In the past day or so I've applied my standby moisturizers which don't harm me around my lips, hoping that would help, but it hasn't. I think the best thing is to leave the edges of my lips alone as far as moisturizers and creams are concerned, and hopefully the pinkness will go away. I will buy a colorless lipstick to keep my lips moist at night - like a lip gloss. Like you, I don't know what to do about the pinkness around the edges of my lips, now that it has developed again. Sorry that this is not more help, but I just wanted to let you know that the same exact thing happened to me with my lips. And, by the way, I do not have eczema or any other skin or health condition. I am in good health. That Burt's Beeswax did me in!
