I forgot if that value is high (mine was, but that was 3 years ago), but it is not important. If this value is high you know it does not tell you anything. Some people may say "see, your body excretes it, no problem!", which is BS as I can say after having had very high values in the hair (and copper astronomically high - in the hair, the complete opposite in all blood tests) and also having had 3.5 years of pretty aggressive chelation (regular DMPS and DMSA infusions, later ALA, later DMSA/ALA a la Cutler because there wasn't enough left to do for DMPS).
Basically, you have Amalgam fillings - at the very least you HAVE mercury in the bones and tissues below and surrounding the teeth with those fillings. WHat chelation can do for you you have to find out by attempting it. Yes, all A. fillings have to be out before using a chelator.
I had severe candida - diagnosed by a doctor too, and in addition to the normal anti-fungals I also later got (prescription-only, hard-hitting) systemic anti-fungals, which had an enormous (positive) effect (which, of course, did not last). The candida issues went away slowly the farther I got with chelation. In my mouth it's pretty much gone. It is THERE, those critters wono't leave your body completely, ever - but that is normal! If your body functions normally they'll be kept in check easily. I had to use Nystatin salve on my lips occasionally, so shold you have or get problems with your lips suspect (invisible) candida and get the salve (cheap!).
I was very much into lab tests, lab tests, lab tests all the way when I went down the chelation route - I didn't quite believe mercury could be responsible for so much. Forget it, it IS (responsible), and lab tests are secondary (by far) to trying out things (different chelation methods, I got DMPS injected into the buccal crease next to the jaw bones, for example, with GREAT results and no side-effects to speak of, but certainly an experimental treatment). Listen to your body what works, but don't do what a lot of people in forums do and come back to report after using something once the next day! This chelation thing takes time, look back in 3-month steps, better 6 months and ignore the many, many small more immediate effects. They will be there but they will change A LOT, both in location (which parts of the body) and intensity. You need the long-term perspective to be able to evaluate calmly what/if chelation works. I've had setbacks where I read other people saying they'd stop now, I just waited and continued - and the problems were suddenly gone, too bad for those who gave up after hitting the first obstacle...
Fish from the ocean... hmmm... depends, if it is low in the food chain you can eat some occasionally (methyl mercury bio-accumulates in fish eating other fish). However, personally I cut back on ocean fish. I'd still eat one, even the more critical ones like halibut or shark, but only because I have DMSA capsules (chelator), so I'd just eat a capsule together with the fish, so the chelator would remove the mercury in the stomach, before it even enters my digestive system. That's the theory, I haven't tried (and since you won't feel anything this is useless without accompanying blood lab test, which is quite a bit of overkill I guess), but it should work.
