Ferventer and Jack1977 thanks so much for your responses. Yes I am taking selenium. I get about 100mg in a whole green food drink and another 60mg in a magnesium drink I take at night. I also eat brazil nuts every few days. I am thinking of upping my minerals and getting a mult-imineral formula.

Just wanted the sore throat was not a bad sign but it appears to be a normal occurence as does the mucous formation.
