I'm so sorry to hear this... and my apologies for not responding earlier (I've been off-site for a while). I hope by now you've had some success??

I have catalogued my trials and errors with these persistent creatures in earlier posts on this thread. My approach was more moderate and medicine-based than others' have been, but it seems that different things work for different people (I WISH the OTC Reeses had worked for me like it seemed to for some, for example).

As stated earlier... After following the supposed "right" dosing of meds for this infection for several months without improvement, I got frustrated and began on a regimen of 400mg albendazole twice daily with a single AM dose of ivermectin (dosage based on weight) in repeated cycles of 2 weeks on, 1 week off. IMPORTANT: take a cimetidine (aka Tagamet) tablet twice daily with the albendazole. It is an acid reducer, as well as having the effect of increasing the potency of medications (My HCP told me about this). It made a big difference for me. It can be found OTC in the antacid section of most pharmacy chain stores.

In addition, I took the advice of these wonderful people here and began drinking carrot juice mixed with some clove oil, pomegranate juice and eating pineapple each morning, as well as taking the Eclectic Institute Wormwood /cloves/black walnut herbal supplements daily. Hygiene-wise, I wore pj pants and underwear to bed, separated my bottoms and towels to wash in hot water separately, used separate (one-time use only) washcloths to clean down there, used baby wipes instead of toilet tissue... and constantly scrubbed my hands and under my fingernails whenever I used the bathroom and after coming out of the shower.

However, I also don't have children to worry about. The hygiene and medicine (and carrot juice/ clove combo- nasty) was hard enough on my own...

If you haven't already found a cure and/or had improvements, consider following this if you can. I repeated these cycles for a good year, and only stopped after two cycles (6 weeks total) showed not a single creature. I don't know if the methods I adopted worked whole or in part, but the result of it is that I've been parasite-free (to my knowledge) for 18 months.

The hardest thing is finding a healthcare provider who will work with you. The amount of medicine I took was WAY out of parameters for pinworms (but not for another type of parasite), but I had a family member who is a healthcare provider who did work with me to eliminate this stubborn infection. Have you tried an ID doctor?

I know it feels hopeless (I cried alot, and felt gross) but don't give up on yourself. It IS curable... though that is more easily achieved for some than others. I had this infection for at least 12-14 months before I even realized it (I have a good idea of where I probably picked it up) and had a hard year-long battle to get rid of it. I NEVER thought something like this could be so hard to get rid of... I was in complete shock and disappointment when the standard 3-day dosing of mebendazole did nothing. After repeated doses of that and then albendazole did nothing, that's when I turned to this forum and began finding answers to get me well.

Bottom line: It IS curable. Please do not hesitate to respond, and I hope you have gotten rid of this nasty infection by now. Best wishes.
