When the thyroid start to make hypo symptoms it goes down, very fast in my experience. Better to prevent it.
Proteins are great if you can digest and utilize them. To get there, enzymes need to work, and the stomach acid too. To get there, body temp need to work.
I did all of this, diet and excercise, but the digestion of proteins etc. did not work. So I had to start from scratch.
Start with the basic temp, if it is 37C / Barnes test, this will proceed smoothly. Add the good fats.
If not a good body temp, Iodine +++ needed.
About the whey powder; IMO no, I would not rely on it. The amino acids, as the minerals, vitamins; need to be in a ratio.
Ray Peat, Weston Price has some good info about it; like not eating only the muscle meat, which gives you a monotonous form of amino acids.
Whey powder, not bad, but I would use it is a supplement.
L-tyrosine; same thing, maybe useful as a supplement for a while. But I would not rely on them.
