Hi Guys new member, I went to see my dermatoligist today who recommended something new so wanted to see if anyone had heard of or just to let you know of something new I had found.
A bit of background on me first:
Im 30, early 20's I started sweating lots and along with that noticed I was smelling of BO really quickly in underarms.
I tried the usual methods, the underarm roll ons (driclor etc), botox.
I have also had 2 surgical ops -1st a laser treatment which was supposed to have killed the glands but did nothing and then the Skoog procedure in NYC which was done by cutting open the underarm and supposed to have removed all sweat glands, but unfortunately it didnt work (I guess glands didnt get removed).
I am using Probanthine which helps a bit with sweating but not with Brom at all. I need to shower at lunch everyday and if Im in a hot place or something things become difficult for me quick.
Anyway recent months I have been speaking to my Dermatoligist about (recently I had been to embarassed to talk about the Brom problem and had only spoken about hyperhidrosis with them and acne).
So I told her about the brom which been causing me problems all these years she gave me Glycopyrronium cream 4% to try few months back and did nothing really.
Today I went in...first she said not sure what to do next, was talking about giving bacterial wash stuff which I knew would do nothing, but then said she would have a word with her colleague.
She came back in and said her colleague had seen a new report giving the reasons for Brom and a new way to tackle it.
She told me to go to The New England Journal of Medicine and find this report which she wrote down but I cant read her hand writing which is annoying but I will try to find it or write to her for it.
Anyway the report recommended to use Stiemycin or Zineryt lotion (which normally for acne) 2 or 3 times a day.
To be honest I am dubious as I don't think any sort of lotion will work but I am seeing my GP tomorrow and will see how goes (although is difficult as I dont want to go to work and try and be stinking by 10am)
Anybody else heard about this ? I will let you know how things go
