How does the increase of Solar Flares CME ties in to all this?

I see people acting and feeling wonky, when the strong X-class CME hits the earth.

I am familiar with the black photon stuff from the Dresden codex, and the sun and moon playing a part (which seems to be a negative force), are the CME another force in this play?
