Yes, now we are talking, always love tour posts T 2 T. Just a little but, as few tolerate iron supplements and it is a reason for that. Always look up for the dicalcium phosphate in supplements. I never saw an iron supplement without it. Exept for liquid supplements, they taste awful and are expensive.
The phosphate will prevent uptake of minerals.
Also know that iron and zink compete in uptake, so if you supplement one of them in high amounts, the other may suffer.
Zink is also important if hair loss..
I went through 2 pregnancies without supplementing iron. Last time it worked great as I had learned from some TCM therapist that vit C is needed for the uptake, vit E for the storage of iron. So I took both.
At my school (medical basics, 2 years) we learned that vit c make sure we re - absorb the iron, at the lower end of the colon. So you dont have to down iron supplements, just make sure the uptake is optimal.
Dark meat is my preferred iron source, and it is balanced with zink. Then add some liver for the vit B and the copper.
