It all about the money. The same thing goes for mammograms; there is no evidence that mammograms are saving lives. There are more women falsely diagnosed, then over treated with mammograms, pap smears seem no better.

Best to be as proactive and precautionary as possible; relying on the FDA to protect you may not be the reliable.
