Hello all! I apologize ahead of time for my long post.

I am in my 20's and I have been dealing with what i'm guessing is vaginitis for nearly a year and a half now (along with mild situational depression). I did not experience this until I became sexually active. It was actually after a sexua| encounter that my problems began.

I first went to the OBGYN within a few days of experiencing my symptoms (excessive thick white discharge, some itching). She examined my discharge and determined it was yeast. She gave me a fluconazole. It cleared up for maybe a week and came back. When I went back to her she believed since the fluconazole didn't work it must be BV (she did not look at my discharge). I took Antibiotics for a week. It either didn't work or came right back. From that point on, I received more prescriptions for fluconazole, diflucan, monistat 7/8, and prescription creams for yeast infections.

By now I was left with a different issue: instead of the thick white discharge I had, I currently have very little white discharge which lines my vaginal walls. A few times when I tasted it, it was very sour. The texture is pasty, almost like pieces of tissue paper mixed with thin lotion. When I went to the OBGYN with my new complaint, she examined my discharge and found it to be normal. She suggested that I start using over the counter lubricants. I was dissatisfied with her answer so I began to self medicate. I tried over the counter creams like monistat, homeopathic treatments and supplements (inserting garlic clove inserting vitamin c, eating raw garlic, inserting yogurt, eating yogurt, azo pearls, inserting essential oils, candida clear, probiotic 11 (current), florafemme, etc etc etc). The last straw was when I was put on fluconazole for a week and it did nothing. I gave up for a few months then started trying again (most recently with boric acid suppositories I make myself and the eleven probiotic).

I switched my OBGYN and of course when she tested my discharge, she found my discharge to be normal. She suggested drinking tea and exercise.

I am at a loss right now. I don't know if I should continue to try yeast infection treatments or BV treaments if my discharge was found to be normal. Furthermore, what treatments do I need to return my discharge to normal? Do I just have an imbalance (bacteria or otherwise)? As much as i would love to have my old discharge back (clear and stringy), I would even settle for just not feeling dry and produce lubrication when needed.

As many others probably had, I took my normal discharge for granted. Now that its gone, I feel undesirable. I've had 2 partners, and i've tested negative for STD's. I know its unrealistic of me to think this way but I feel like until my problem is fixed I can't be romantically involved with anyone else (who would want me?).

Someone please if you have any insight on my situation, I would like some advice on how to move forward. Thanks.
