This is all silly talk.
The gut is literally inhabited with around 100 trillion X 10 bacterial cells (10 human beings worth of bacterial cells live in our gut, our body contains 90% bacteria DNA and 10% human DNA). Balance of the right species is everything.
In reality, even a "large" dose of 100 billion probiotics represents a very tiny percentage of what is already there. So technically, you are not going to feed or regrow the blasto (bastard) with dusting doses of probiotics. If it comes back, it never went away and the probiotic, in conjunction with the constant microbiological warfare going on in the gut, just revealed this simple reality.
An SIBO condition, an overpopulation of good and/or potentially bad bacteria, can sometimes be made worse with probiotics.
The key to successful treatment is first rebuilding the inherent gut defense systems, which are taken down hard by Mr. Blasto, then providing the these systems the specific (oxidative) weapons they need to finish the job, post treatment.
