If there was my Dad didn't seem to talk much about it. It was the first time they flew the United Nations flag on the Mighty Mo....so I can only assume that there was much destruction.

Being a small town boy that he was, I guess he thought I would be more interested in hearing about visits to the ship by famous people like Bob Hope or Marilyn Maxwell. He would tell me about General Mac Arthur coming aboard too. Of course he didn't mind telling me about his bad boy ways while he was there. Yes, too much drinking, smoking and whatever other things they could get away with, without going to the brig.

As far as different servicemen hating each other, my Dad thought it was just part of creating competition between them all, so they would work harder. Sort of like they do in sports...or are you talking about something different? Due to heavy drinking there were many fist fights that broke out due to it. Was your drinking due to stress?

My Dad was good at keeping up with the people he was with on the ship and they were all good friends up until he died. Have you checked for online websites that help you search out people you served with yet?

I wish my Dad had allowed me to help him with something besides chemo...but it was his choice and besides, he had the fast growing type of cancer in his lungs and bones and chemo was only used to bring him some comfort because the tumors were growing so rapidly and getting so large, I could see them under his skin. I'm not sure going natural (in this case) would have worked fast enough to help....but then again, I don't really know anything about your therapy and how it works. I only know about alkaline and acid balancing and it's effects on the body.

I stayed with him until he passed. He shared things with me during that time, that I had never heard before. I was blessed to be with him.
