Hey Yoe, just to add on from previous posts. I actually think white basmati rice is a better choice than brown rice, easier to digest and soothing to the bowels. Modern wheat is a toxic substance unfit for human consumption (especially white flour), Kamut wheat and other ancient varieties are very healthy and nourishing to the body. In my opinion, amaranth is one of healthiest grains, it should be soaked overnight and cooked until soft and mushy. Otherwise, there are many great vegetable sources of carbohydrates, sweet potatoes, squashes, as far as regular white potatoes, they are not a staple of my diet due to the fact that they are a nightshade and somewhat "heating" but I know plenty people do fine on them, they should always be pealed as the skin is a bit toxic. I'm glad Faith110 does well on potato chips, but that is not something I would ever recommend as a healthy food to anyone (and I don't think she was necessarily recommending that, just saying that she feels good eating those). Beans are okay for some people, not for others, it really just depends on the person, generally the smaller the bean, the easier to digest, most beans have a large amount of astringency in the skin that can aggravate the intestinal tract (for some people). Organic split yellow mung beans are okay for everyone but a bit hard to come by.
