Again, I say don't stress over the method. I go by Dr. Wilson's recommendations on this (and lots of other things relating to NB). He is quite specific on many subjects, but on this he says that the method doesn't seem to matter a lot. I have a coffee maker that has a built-in grinder, and that is what I use. But I've also used my mother's Mr. Coffee maker using pre-ground beans.

IMHO, the internet is a great resource, but we can spend oodles of time looking up various topics, stressing over what's the ideal way to do things, etc. I have that tendency, but with NB, Dr. Wilson is my go-to guy on most things. It's better to just get started rather than keep researching.
