The "Holy Spirit" is the ultimate power, the spirit of God.
God is the entity that the Holy Spirit exist.
Jesus was sent to Earth in human form by God though the Holy Spirit that entered into Mary His "mother" to nurture Him until He was able to fend for Himself in human form.
They are the trinity which culminates through God our Father.
So to get to God when one repents their sins and given redemption they must go through Jesus for "Jesus said 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. You receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.
