David Crosby, left, and Stephen Stills perform with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young on Sept. 13, 1969, at the Big Sur Folk Festival. The band, beginning with "wooden" acoustical music and ending with a full electric blast, was one of the smash hits of the festival weekend. Behind Crosby and Stills are drummer Dallis Taylor and bassist Greg Reeves.
