Ethanol is alcohol, not poisonous unless you take alot, but you may get drunk..

Methanol is the one to avoid.

Iodine internally; the water / potassium types are the ones we refer to at this forum. The ethanol based are good for painting though.

However; Wombat have had several history posts of Iodine usage. Not to encourage drinking it in loads:) just history.
