Blistex is for the cold sore only. It is always good to try leaving the rest of the lips alone to heal.

If your lips are not dry anymore chances are the retinol only temporarily caused high exfoliation on your lips due to its property of encouraging skin cell turnover. But the new skin is delicate and should not be exposed to the sun. This is why vitamin A derivatives is only safe in products intended for night use!
