Trapper is correct. Every cell in our body requires iodine, especially the thyroid, the sex organs & brain. There is a national deficiency epidemic in progress, causing a Pandoras Box of disease. See this link:

Any excess Iodine not used by the body simply goes out in the urine.

4 drops per gallon is enough to kill any germs. Lugols is safe and was intended for human consumption, your thyroid will thank you. I take 50 mg a day of iodoral Iodine (Lugols in tablet form) for optimal health.This is a good book to read:
