i was just wondering about Iodine toxicity. i posted on the water forum about the best way to maintain and store treated water at room temperature and someone said to add 1-5 drops of Lugol's Iodine per 1 gallon of water to keep it pure and prevent growth of micro organisms.

i just did this, i used about 8 drops of Lugol's in a 3 gallon jug of treated/purified water i got. it tastes really strong like Iodine and i am wondering if this was a bad idea. i have been taking 1-2 drops of Lugol's daily usually with food...

what do you guys think about this amount in water? is it a bad idea to use that many drops, or any? i can taste it very strongly so i am concerned. what are the effects of too much iodine? is it really bad? i have had some chest pains lately and noticed the post below about arrythmia but i haven't been sleeping much at all so i figured its related to that...
