It seems I've hit a goldmine with my research into traditional Chinese and Indian herbs. I'm encountering an array of compounds I've never seen mentioned on the forums before, with multiple studies pointing to unique mechanisms they employ against candida. Baicalin is the active flavanoid in Chinese skullcap, also known as Huang Qin. Studies have shown it to be antifungal, and specifically it seems to inhibit RNA, DNA, and protein synthesis in candida. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to cause apoptosis in candida, which is basically where the cells disintegrate and release their internal toxins. This means it would also eliminate the die-off reaction. It also appears to target the mitochondria in candida which I've never seen mentioned before. Baicalin is available in pure form (not sure about safety) and as chinese skullcap. Another potential tool in the toolbox against candida.
