Yup.. adrenal fatigue is very hereditary.   Well, I think is the chronic stress that is hereditary,  and eventually it catches up and becomes AF.

Mom was one of 16, and I have a LOT of cousins on that side of the family,

I see symptoms in all of my uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews on that side.  Everyone is on anti-anxiety, sleeping pills, anti-depressants, etc.     Many have complained of an afternoon energy crash ... all the classic symptoms.

There are lots of reasons for it being hereditary.    Prenatal  Cortisol exposure makes infants have an exaggerated cortisol response

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22315044

Prenatal cortisol exposure predicts infant cortisol response to acute stress.

Stressed parents end up activating stress related genes (epegentics).   The activation of these stress related genes gets passed on to offspring.

It makes sense.  If you are being born into a world of stress… you had better come out swinging !

Also,  I am sure mom was loaded with copper  when carrying me.  I was pretty much born with psoriasis.   My skin bled as an infant my eczema was so bad.  Combine that with the fact that being stuck in fight or flight for 40+ years, it is no wonder that it is taking over 2-years for me to get my copper down.

I am excited to see how good I’ll feel when I finally get it down.  But there are already many positives.
