"Yes, Jesus was sent first to the Jews. But are you forgetting the Samaritans? How about the woman Jesus basically called a dog? Did He not see her faith and heal her? I'm just pointing this out because of the ministry to the Gentiles had already begun. However, I realize they probably spoke aramaic.

Greek was very well known at that time. However the people who would be teaching would be in charge of reading if necessary. Not the illiterates. I seriously doubt there would be a copy in every household like there is today."

Jesus wasn't sent first to the Jews, he was sent only to the Jews.  He sought out no others though he obviously did encounter others.  The story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4 is an example as well as the healing of the centurion's (Roman) servant.  Outside of the "accepted" gospels you will find that he also had female disciples - unheard of in those days.  (The Gospel of Mary was not included in the bible.  The dominance of males and Romans in creating the New Testament is obvious.)

Greek was only spoken by the upper class/wealthy Jews in Jesus day.  Jesus message was to the hookers, illiterate fishermen, tax collectors, and other common poor people of Jerusalem and Galilee and they spoke Aramaic, not Greek.
