Thanks for the reply! I just looked into it an an ameboma could explain the blockage. Upon further reading, it usually manifests in the lower right quadrant and can be mistaken for Crohn's disease...wow

I have yet to hear back from the generic Quest Diagnostics stool test (been over a week!) but after that comes back negative I am going to see about getting tested for a bunch of stuff from one of the reputable testing locations in NYC. From what I hear, Chelsea Diagnostics and Jetti Katz are the two I should look at.

shroom thank you very much for the heads up. Do you have any information that could be useful? I am still on Cipro/Flagyl/Prednisone but weening off the pred...is it possible that the Antibiotics cleared the problem and I will be ok or is an ameboma treated wit something else?
