Thank you so much for talking with me Charville! I like what you said about his spirit maybe leaving his body before. I can't bear the thought of his suffering those last few days. I feel stupid being so upset when I'm really glad he's not in that poor old body any more. But then I read about ghosts who relive their traumatic dying moments over and over and I just couldn't bear the thought of that happening to him. I had a dream a couple of nights ago in which he was still very weak but himself as he used to be and smiling. He said, "Don't worry. I'm alright as long as I can lie down." I know this sounds silly but I woke up feeling a little better for the first time.

What you said reminded me of something I had quite forgotten. I have always felt cats walking on my bed after they had passed on. It is unmistakable and my other cats and my dog will stare at the place where I feel the movement. I've sort of thought of it as a cat thing. When it happens I just smile or say the cat's name and go back to sleep. But about 15 years ago I was staying in an old french farmhouse with my children and several times a day we would hear heavy footsteps walking down the upstairs hall and then coming downstairs to the kitchen where we usually sat. I had a cat who would stare up at the stairs until the footsteps stopped. Then she would lose interest. I thought it was fascinating but it frightened the kids a lot so I tried some automatic writing to get information. (The unknown is so much scarier.) What came through was an old man and his mother. He seemed trapped and depressed but he had lived in that house his whole life and couldn't imagine anything else. Neither he nor his mother knew they were dead.

Maybe I am too old to see spirits but I can try automatic writing again. Thank you for helping me remember that I do have other ways to contact my father.
