Insomnia was the primary cause for me. I havent slept properly in over four years, and this mainly started when I stopped sleeping. Even with powerful pharma meds, that would normally 'knock an elephant out' as my GP used to say, I would be awake after a couple of hours.
A lot of people cant function if they dont sleep properly, but they get through the day with a coffee, then they have a big sleep and it all goes back to normal. Dealing with little sleep, long job hours for many years has brought in to this state, I sometimes wonder if it will ever get better, as I sure have a lot of PTSD towards sleep, and after four years, my system is now pretty much set in the sleep routine I have.
The neurologist believes my exhaustion and hormone disruption is due to the insomnia, and if i fix the sleep, then the rest will fix itself. Its a vicious circle now, with AF, even basic sleep is not stable and crashes make it worse.
