Hello. I do wear a burka. It is not Afgan but I cover everything, evertime I go out. I also live in a year around hot climate yet I am always very comfy. The Taliban implimented curfews, and manditory covering because women were being raped when they were alone or going out uncovered. This is a very lawless time. Lawlessness is comming from all peoples. This is very sad and makes people take measures they would not really ever have too. I have many Afgan friends who have fled the country from the times when the communists were there. I hate to drive so I am very happy to be driven & I stay in my home most of the time except to go out with my family. My life is very good. I spend my days in worship and study, and enjoy my children. We all have choices and free will yet there are consequences to those choices. All the pious women of olde covered themselves when they went out all the time. Do you not think if one of them went out in shorts they would not cause themselves to be a spectacle? So many Muslim countries have laws that we donot have. That is their right.I personally do not see the freedom to wear a thong as a necessity. Women's clothing is such a hot topic.
My understanding of the Holy Quran is that God requires us to cover, not man. So why can a Muslim country not implement God's laws? It is decent. God would not tell us to go out and wear a thong. Would you go to church in a thong? No. So if we know what the laws of religion are, we can see the true beauty and freedom it brings. The Holy Bible tells women to cover their heads as well. So if you are a Christian and you believe in the words of God then you will want to cover. Women are prescious, not cattle.
Many wrong things are not based in Islam, yet blamed on Islam and that is sad. It is the same for any religion. I have heard many things in the media that are wrong when it comes to Islam. I have heard things about many peoples and religions that are taited as well. This is sad for all of us because we end up very missinformed about so much when we are all human and should be good to one another.
