Hi Lakegrrl,
I'm sorry I didn't see this message sooner. In the last few weeks I have been going to mexico and I just didn't see that this was written to me. This message is pretty old now and I hope the albendazole helped you to further improve.
My experience when taking the daxon alone is that I find large segments that I strongly believed to be from a tapeworm. They were about 1 inch in length, solid, and have ridges going thru it along it's long axis. Kind of like Celery would look like if it was circular. For me I would see those consistently everytime I started a course of daxon, except the last time. I feel that many people aren't getting very good results with it and I don't know why. I tend to prefer it because it doesn't have the harsh side effects like albendazole does, and for me I feel it worked better. I did experiment with taking a generic version of the medicine and I don't think that worked quite as well. So, I splurge and take expensive one named Daxon, which is $20 dollars a box. In Tijuana, many pharmacist recommend this drug to me as being their best multipurpose antihelminthic. It is supposed to treat 14 different parasites. Again I don't know how well, but I do feel that I saw segments from a Tapeworm everytime I have used it, except the last time. Which if I did they were very small. There are other options like praziquantel and niclosamide which worked well for me initially. Opps. I never tried niclosamide. I think for me personally the effectiveness possibly of praziquantel might have decreased because I tried really an anticancer IV therapy out of desperation in mexico. One of the I.V.'s was edta which removed a lot of calcium. I chipped one of my teeth while down there as well. So, this might have something to do with the effectiveness of the prazi. I'm simply not sure. It seems like it wouldn't but like I said, initially it worked very well and after the edta I.V. I never felt it worked very well.
About the frex program. I started using the frex program in T.J. while on daxon and noticed atleast 5 more large segments. I'm tempted to say 10 or more. I can't remember. I felt the frex program had something to do with it. The major concern with using this program would be the Tapeworm separating and not being killed. This new segment would then from what I understand be considered a new worm where a scolex would develop. As far as frequencies go, they start with the smallest and then work up to the biggest. Since I saw large segments in the past I always expected that I would see a long Tapeworm in my stool one day. That never happened. Although, when I do see something that could be considered a segment it is very small. So, there is a risk there and I don't have enough expertise to know if it's right or wrong. I think when the tapeworm separates there are eggs that need to be killed. Maybe the best time to run the frex program would be while a person is taking meds. I think it does have potential to remove the scolex, but it may cause them to separate and in effect cause more damage. Maybe it should be run while on medication. I just don't know.
