These alarming numbers speak for themselves. With 70 percent of Americans being prescribed at least one medication, prescription drug abuse is now considered the largest man-made epidemic in our country. Plus, some of the most dangerous drugs, like antidepressants and opioids, are the most commonly prescribed among young and middle-aged adults, so the question we need to ask ourselves is: what are we doing as a nation to regulate these medications?
