Thank you for visiting the website of Bebepingo. We are the only not-for-profit organization based in beautiful Puerto Vallarta dedicated to helping families improve the lives of their children using the Defeat Autism Now (DAN!) protocol.  (Information about DAN! may be found at www.autismresearchinstitute.com.)




Our goal is to educate physicians and parents to treat and recover children on the autism spectrum. We hold a weekly parent support meetings every Thursday at 7:00 p.m It is open to the public. Attendance is comprised primarily of parents, however, frequently a city offical or physician may attend to see what we are doing.  Hopefully, they will walk away with information to take back to their community.  The parents attend with and without their children. Many times it is very difficult to get people to watch a child with special needs and it is necessary to bring them along. Children are always welcome at out clinic. We have occasional talks given by out-of-town guests who work in a field that overlaps autism. We have had an allergist with an expertise in autism who visits from Mexico City to see the children every 3 months. Recently we hosted one of the best DAN! doctors practicing in the United States today, Dr. Jo Feingold. She was so generous to come to Puerto Vallarta (PV) and train a few doctors in intravenous (IV) chelation for children with autism. The most popular so far, was the presentation on ozone therapy. Many of us are benefitting by the availability of ozone therapy here in PV. We are also involved in bringing international conferences to Mexico.
 
One of the greatest reasons for our existence is to bring hope and awareness to those affected by autism. Autism is not the incureable disease of the past. It is, in fact, curable when treated early, properly, and effectively from the earliest possible age.

 One of our greatest challenges is funding. Since we are new, we do not have a host of different sponsors. We have been funding the clinic and will continue to cover all of the administration costs ( I work for free ). However, many of the families we help are of low- or very low-income. It has been necessary for some families to be given all of the supplements needed for their child. We begin by treating the child with a special gluten free, casien free, soy free diet and a couple of supplements like calcium, magnesium, B6 and C. From there we move into some tests to see where their metal levels are, etc., and then we add to the list of supplements depending on the child's lab results. From that point, we try to get as much balance in the gut until we are able to have the children chelated. We do not have a local doctor who is abreast in autism. SO, we must bring one in.

The biggest feather in our cap that we have is a hyperbaric chamber. The children will be able to have treatments in the chamber once we get some of the metals out of their system(s). The cost per session is around $100 USD. The chamber is useful for many different things. It helps children by sending oxygen into the brain where there has been damage to the neurons and gives lifesaving oxygen to them to recover from a state of hypoxia. In the case of my son, after 32 sessions in the chamber, he recovered speech. Oxygen is miraculous. The chamber is available for hire by the public.

The Children

Our motivation to open an autism clinic came after searching for someone to tell us what was wrong with our child. We wasted valuable time and money. After more than a year spent wondering and asking and still coming up with no answers, a neuropsychiatrist told us that she was amazed that no one had told us that our son had autism. The truth was set free.  However, she offered nothing as far as what to do next.
 
We have spent the last 3+ years researching and practicing what is affectionately referred to as the DAN! protocol. DAN! stands for Defeat Autism Now. It was begun by Dr. Bernard Rimland of the Autism Research Institute, along with the authors of the protocol. The DAN! protocol serves as a blueprint for the treatment of children on the autism spectrum. We have had the protocol translated into Spanish with the blessing of Dr. Rimland himself. We plan to spread the word to all who are willing to listen that AUTISM IS AVOIDABLE, TREATABLE, and sometimes CURABLE.

 
What is autism?
Autism is a multifactorial disorder affecting a person's ability to communicate and socialize. It ususally begins before the age of two-and-a-half. Children with autism appear normal, yet display odd behaviors which differentiate them from neurotypical children.  Many times, autism arrives like a theif in the night, leaving you with the shell of the child you once knew. It is currently an epidemic affecting 1 in every 150 children (1 in every 80 boys).
 
There is no "magic bullet" cure for autism. However, with the application of the DAN! protocol, children are losing their diagnosis of autism and becoming "neurotypical."  (To see more recovered children go to www.autism-recoveredchildren.org.)  Recent peer-reviewed scientific/medical studies by Nataf, et al. What  autism is not:

It is NOT bad parenting. Often, the parents of children with autism are blamed for the inappropriate behaviors of their children.  Autism is NOT a genetic disorder. Genetic disorderes do not increase at the rate that autism is increasing. Genetic disorders do not improve. So, since we have recovered children (thousands documented) as well as adopted children with autism (2 children  from different parents adopted into one home can have autism) it must be something else. A mother was quoted to say, "I believe that Christian`s regression and subsequent autism was the result of receiveing 6 vaccines during one office visit at 2 months of age. He screamed for 12 hours and had a 104 degree fever nearly the entire time. His vaccines contained Thimerosal."  Thimerosal is the mercury-based preservative found in many vaccines.
