Vitamin D is a wonder drug at suppressing the symptoms of inflammation, it works by shutting down part of your immune system. Inflammation has a purpose in healing, better to directly address the cause of the inflammation instead of just turning it off with a synthetic hormone. It's very difficult to argue this point because people who take it feel better and thus know better.
