I was dx with PCOS at 13 yrs old. At the time I was told I would probably have issues with being overweight, (which I am) and getting pregnant (and I have never been able to conceive, to my knowledge). Now at 47, I look back after having suffered from horrendous health issues for around 20-25 years and I can't help but wonder if the PCOS could be the cause, or at least contributing. I have the usual PCOS symptoms, but I also have the following, which I am learning could actually be caused by the PCOS.
Major digestive issues
Muscle and joint pain
Hair loss and breakage
Anxiety, depression, apathy, panic attacks
Total loss of most interests and passions in life
Beyond debilitating fatigue
Can't lose weight
Gas and painful bloating, carb and Sugar intolerance
Tinnitus
Blurred vision
Leg cramps
Reflux
No sex drive
These are just a few of the complete list. I do have other health issues, but the PCOS is the very first thing I was dx with. I have tried to treat all the health issues over the years and am still not well. I was treated with Glucophage and the first time I used it had a great reaction from it. Lost a lot of weight and felt better. I was taken off of it and gained all the weight back. Second time I went on it I had a bad reaction and had to go off of it. That was about 20 or so years ago. Labs I have had recently show normal thyorid levels. Just wondering if anyone else here is experiencing any of these symptoms. Thanks.
