Awhile ago, I posted the same link showing different photos of cheilitis. Yes, it looks like many people here have contact cheilitis instead of exfoliative cheilitis. Since contact cheiltis may be caused by chemicals, it makes sense that Mike Pylon had it due to using TCA chemical peel on lips.

Since the anti-fungal drugs helped to diminish my EC, I want everyone to know that my EC lips look like the lip photo of this girl with Crohn's disease, which I posted in prior post.

In the photo, the skin lays flat instead of sticks up. My lip skin stuck out and did not lie flat when I first acquired EC. Hence, my new EC looked more like your EC lips, Calix. After I did a leave alone method for a few months, the peeling skin started to lie flat instead of stick out and it changed from a yellowish color to a clear color. My top lip also became raw.

I am interested to see if the injections or anti-inflammatory drugs work for anyone. It is possible that both anti-fungal drugs and anti-inflammatory can work for the same condition. I do not think the girl with Crohn's disease had a fungal infection or her intestines were just inflamed. Perhaps the lips will eventually become inflamed after anti-inflammatory drugs are discontinued if a fungus infection is not addressed. I do not understand why the girl's gastrointestinal symptoms came back without cheilitis. It seems like the recurring inflammation would inflame the lips all over again. Confusing.

Anyway, I am out of here.
