My granny use to wear it in a sachet around her neck to warn off a cold. She called it assa fetta dee. That stuff stinks. I found some in the grocery store one time right before I was heading for a night club to hear Koko Taylor sing. There was a big party of people at the table next to me getting really drunk and some guy decided to take off one of his new alligator shoes and pass it around to let people have a look. I reached in my purse, opened up the little zip lock baggie of assafettadee and the aroma began to permeate the air. A lady who was admiring his shoe dropped it on the floor and said, "Oh my God! It smells vile!" I laughed and laughed. The whole table decided to go to the dance floor for a while. There I was alone hoping nobody thought I farted. Practical jokes can back fire. No pun intended.
