I was reading this beautifully written post from Dr. Ben Kim, about his experience of being gawked at because of his skin depigmentation, which I guess is another term for vitiligo:

I did a search here and found that vitiligo can be one of the symptoms of Iodine deficiency. With more searching on Google, I found this page:

So...I wrote to Dr. Kim and suggested his condition could be due to Iodine deficiency. Actually, he sells a thyroid support formula, but the amount of iodine
is in the micrograms.
