The sicker I got, the more sensitive I became to glandulars. I think it has to do with weakness in my hypothalamus and/or pituitary. I wouldn't be afraid of adrenal glandulars, if I were you, but I would be aware that supporting one gland may show you that you have weakness in another gland. For me, I think that the potassium wasting (that started with a very low dose of adrenal cortical extract (ACE))was caused by low vasopressin from the pituitary. I've started taking pituitary/ hypothalamus from Biotics and it seems to be helping w the potassium loss ( but I'm not totally sure yet).
Potassium loss is a common side effect of HC, less common of glandulars, but it is important to be aware that it could cause this symptom. If you start adrenal support and you start having muscle spasms, order a urine analysis for minerals and see if you are wasting potassium. If so, don't be afraid of it. I take Solaray Pottassium Asporotate 200 mg every two hours.
By the way, prior to the ACE, I was wasting sodium in large quantities, and would never have guessed that I would end up wasting potassium.
