I think the polish might be most helpful.

"The purpose of the cleaning and polishing is basically to leave the surfaces of the teeth clean and smooth so that bacteria are unable to stick to them. Polishing makes the teeth shiny smooth."

My front teeth have some pinholes on them. It is hard for dentists to see, but I notice my teeth look grimy or collect more bacteria there.
