How bad to keep smoking after being "floxed"?? by umbredornan ..... Cipro: Fluoroquinolone Syndrome

I was "floxed" back in September.

Took the pills for about 5-6 days. Spasms in bottom of feet, floaters in vision, confusion, brain fog, dryness, etc., etc.

Anyway, the worst part is that I've also been going through Protracted Withdrawal from benzodiazepines, and apparently quinolone Antibiotics are one the worst type of meds you can take when trying to get off of benzos.

What scares me the most, and I have been wanting to post on a forum somewhere since September, is that I am a mild cigarette smoker (only 5-7 cigs a day as of getting floxed last fall), and I'm wondering how bad it is or how much worse I'm making my possibilities for recovery by having continued to smoke during that time.

Does smoking cigarettes make your ability to recover from getting "floxed" worse?

It would be REALLY, really hard for me to quit right now, given situations of stress and continuing to go through withdrawal from benzos, so I have felt like I had to continue even after taking the Cipro and getting these symptoms.

Can anyone help me out with some info here?

I tried searching for "floxed" "smoking" and searches similar to that and haven't found anything over the last 9 months...

Anybody?
