i was buying some apples at central market in austin and talking to the produce guy and trying a sample of the new crop argentina variety "autumn greeting". i asked about irradiation due to being imported. he said that central market has a standing policy not to buy any irradiated food. i pay more there(not as much as whole paycheck, though), but its worth it.
