interesting you say all of this too, because my calcium is the highest in relation to MAg, Sod and Pot, it is in the normal range but still high compared to the others.
I just made the link to the chest pains I have been experiencing the last 8 months and the paramin supplementation. I wasn't supplementing with anything to raise my sodium and potassium levels the last 8 months, just focusing on raising the Mag, Cal levels and was taking 5 paramin a day to raise ... now this is raised as shown on my recent test I really needed to incorporate the supplements to raise my sodium and potassium ratios.
Paramin lowers your sodium and potassium levels and as my levels were low I think it was causing the chest pains but starting to make them worse as the cal, mag levels balanced to normal/almost normal levels... when i stopped the paramin for 2 days this weekend, the chest pains were almost non existent. I also just started megapan and noticed a change already too - this helps increase the sodium and potassium.
I am now just supplementing with magnesium in place of the paramin, to still try to get the magnesium up slightly higher as it is in almost normal range, but I am not taking the paramin as I don't think I need anymore calcium at the moment. I am also going to try MCHC, which is an alternative to paramin, that my practitioner gives to those who have the symptoms with the paramin.
I am also submitting a retest bc the one that shows from three months (1 1/2 inches of hair) ago shows my calcium in normal, with the last three months of calcium I bet it raised it to the normal-high range and without working on the sodium, potassium ratio the last three months I think it caused the chest pains. I also spoke with my practitioner and she had said three other people had issues with the paramin and chest pains... I am interested to see what will show of my retest when I test with 1/2 inch of hair... getting the most accurate updated one month out results.
Amazing what can happen when you stop a supplement for a few days and you can pinpoint that it could be causing some of your symptoms... glad both you and I found out that supplementing with calcium isn't what we need at the moment. :)
