Surely seems to be candida or at least some yeast/fungal overgrowth.

"I am a pretty strict vegetarian/ healthy eater already or for at least the last 3 yrs I have been. (no sugars, no dairy except organic yogurt maybe once twice a month, no fats, whole wheat or grains only, barely any pasta or rice- maybe once every 6mo.)"

I do have some thoughts on this, though I have a feeling you may not like what I have to say. I also followed a diet very similar to this for a long time and while I did feel pretty good on this, much better than other types of diets, I was never able to make that next step toward truly optimal health. And I did have struggles with low energy at various times. After recently finally adding a good amount of meat back into my diet (and also taking some herbs from an ayurvedic practitioner) I finally feel like I am starting to make that last bit of progress that I could not get before. I am not saying that meat is necessarily 'healthy' and I am not necessarily saying you should eat meat. What I have realized is that SOME people really do benefit from a good amount of meat in their diet and SOME people really benefit from a vegetarian diet. The strange part is that it seems that many people that are naturally inclined toward a vegetarian diet (myself included in this) are actually the same people that SHOULD actually have a good amount of meat in there diet, and the opposite is also true, many times people that love eating large amounts of meat would actually do better on a vegetarian or even vegan diet. Personally, I still cannot bring myself to eat any beef, lamb, or pork, even though I probably would benefit from at least small amounts of these in my diet, but even just adding good amounts of chicken and fish have made a HUGE difference and I feel better than I have in a long time.
