Yeah I rinse off the saline solution with water just like death2ec described and I've also had almost no buildup and I say almost because I'm not sure if I'm still getting buildup since everything comes off when I rinse my lips. I usually rinse about 3 times a day, I've been doing this for a little over a week and I have seen a little progress.

After I rinsed my lips today and patted them dry (so nothing was on them) I noticed that my inflammation had greatly decreased. They weren't as red anymore and it seems like my normal lip grooves were returning to my upper lip but no grooves at all on my bottom lip. So I do seem to be making little progress and it's only been like a week so I can't really complain, I just need to wait but I'm just worried that I might be taking the buildup off too early when I rinse my lips.

So I think starting tomorrow I'm probably going to just rinse my lips once a day, probably in the morning when I wake up, and just apply aquaphor whenever I feel like I need it throughout the day.
