I got Vaseline last week, and it didn't seem to work for me. Aquaphor provided a much better barrier on my lips...I had to apply Vaseline many times more than Aquaphor.

If the cream you are using is turning your lips red, maybe you should try a different one? They steroid cream I have is making my lips less red...so it seems to be working well with my lips. Are there any other creams you are able to get to try out?

I would just brush your teeth more often...get an organic toothpaste or something at whole foods or that site where I get mine from...even if you get it on your lips it doesn't burn or anything.

1) No, but I am using aquaphor...now for my inner lips it does come off if I eat something that rubs on them...but for the most part I don't have any issues with it rubbing off.

2) A couple hours on my days off, and less than 30 minutes on the days I work, however most weeks I wasn't able to go out for several days at a time when working...but at least 3 days out of the week I'd be out there for a couple hours at least. Also the UV index in Florida is MUCH higher compared to other places, so the suns rays are a lot stronger here...so you might have to be out for even longer depending where you are. Just don't get like really burnt or anything and that should be fine.
