It's saying that it's only Iodine and water... Lugol's is Iodine, Potassium Iodide, and water.

Perhaps there's some greater benefit to just water and I2 than when you add in KI?

... or was it all just a marketing ploy?

The world may never know (unless someone is brave enough to try it and post back) :-p
