Then i tried carbonating the IMAM and the fizz seems to be weak. Not sure if the co2 is reacting with the contents, therefore using up the bubbles?

Zero PPM water will hold no CO2 and the bubbles are huge. As you increase the PPM the bubbles get smaller and can hold onto the dissolved particles in the water..
