Thanks for the answer Chris,

I am not sure about the gas theory as I do not really have any gas pain, I just tend to bloat up massively on consuming anything...

Also I tried giving myself 2 enemas a day for 2 weeks a while a go and this did nothing for the bloating so I don't think it would be old stool causing it either.

I did find drinking hot water was more comfortable but still produced rather large bloating.

Maybe it will help if I explain what happens when I drink water on a fast:
I feel thirsty in my mouth so I drink some water, very soon after drinking the water my stomach feels full even though my mouth does not, I feel a pressure/heaviness in my stomach, bloating occurs specifically on the left side and I can still feel the water for up to 24 hrs in my stomach and feel slightly nauseous.
I know this sounds like slow stomach emptying but when I am not fasting my appetite returns at regular intervals after eating and the above effects are drastically reduced (aside from the bloating).

I broke the fast with iv drip, soup and juice for 2 days then progressed on to GAPs style foods after which are supposed to be real easy on the gut. I still had the large bloating 2 months after the 30 day fast... so even if I didn't break the fast perfectly it shouldn't last for 2 months. Also the bloating was just the same as before so I don't think it is related to braking the fast wrong.

Read about and actively do proper food combining. Doesn't stop the bloating.

Wow that's a long time to clear the tongue. Yeah, I haven't experienced true hunger yet during fasting and breath has always been foul and tongue coated. I figured I will keep doing 7-10 day fasts every months until the breath clears up. Cannot afford to do fasts any longer at this point.

My appetite came back relatively quickly post fast and I was eating a lot, which of course led to the rediculus amount of bloating.

I am currently on day 6 of a 7-10 day fast btw.
