A swelling in general could be adrenal fatigue; as it governs the water / electrolyte balance. In that case, salt loading could help.
And loads of vit C

For those who have a reaction to sodium, potassium chloride may be an option (as it is the chloride that makes bromide move ) Changing type of salt may also do the trick.

Other from that, you may try MSM, as this seemed to clear the detoxing pathways in my case. Thinking that the cells need more permeability.
So the potassium / sodium pump can work better; this is one of the most important systems of the body.
